    Game Day
New England Patriots vs Jacksonville Jaguars
    1pm EST

Today's game should be a grind of a game. I don't think there will be too much passing. At least not as much as in past games. The weather will be a factor at least for the first half. The wind is quite strong.

The Pats offense should be ok against the Jags. Its been hard to say which offense will show up though. Its been hit or miss. The offensive line has to continue to protect Tom Brady. Give him some time to throw the ball.

Laurence Maroney will probably get the ball a ton of times. He has been pretty the past few games. Fred Taylor may or may not play. I doubt he'd run the ball too much.

The Pats defensive key will be stopping the Jags running game. Maurice Jones Drew will get plenty of runs. Wilfork and Warren may not be playing or will be limited. How the Pats go about stopping the run will be interesting. If they can't stop it, it will be a long day. We can only hope that the Pats figure out a defensive scheme like last week which will slow down the Jags offense. And the Pats should.

The Jags passing game can be dangerous with Mike Sims-Walker. He's been a steady receiver this season. Will the Pats corners be able to stop him?

The most dangerous threat the Jags have is they are desperate to make the playoffs. The more desperate teams sometimes plays better. Can the Patriots fight that effect?

The Pats also have to be careful and not get stupid penalties. They have been bitten too often this season by bad penalties. And have ball possession. Don't turn over the damn ball.

The Patriots should win this game but who knows. I can't predict how this team will play right now.

    Go Pats!!!

    Game Day
New England Patriots vs Buffalo Bills
    1pm EST

Today's game should another tough grind out game for the Pats. I really don't like their chances.

Vince Wilfork and Ty Warren are out. The run stuffers won't be in and that will allow the Bills to run and open up their already good passing game. The Bills have come a long way since they started the season. It will be incumbent for the Pats to slow down the Bills pass. And since they don't have much of a pass rush, its going to be very very hard.

It just seems like too many key players are banged up.

Tom Brady has got some rib and finger injuries to deal with and playing in the frigid cold won't help. Expect plenty of the running game and Lawrence Maroney. He'll be the key to the offense. If he can get some good yards, the Pats should be able to score. The Bills pass defense is great. They have intercepted a ton of passes. However, their run defense is one of the worse. If the Pats can't run the ball, it will be a long day.

The offensive line will have to protect Tom from Arron Schobel. He has sacked Tom the most in his career. Matt Light better be on the top of his game. Or at least Volmer has to be.

And will Randy show up this week? And lets hope Wes can keep going.

Can the Pats defense slow down the pass happy Bills? The Harvard kid can certainly get the ball to TO. It just scares me to think the Pats corners are going to get eaten up by him. Uggh.

Throw on top of it the Pats road woahs, I just don't have a good feeling for this game. The Pats have had a crappy year and I don't see it getting too much better. I hope I'm totally wrong.

    Go Pats!!!

Central Connecticut Writers Group Meet and Greet
I am looking for writers, from serious hobbyists to the hallowed published, to form a writers group in the Central Connecticut area. The first Central Connecticut Writers Group meeting will be held at Panera Bread on the Berlin Turnpike on Thursday, January 7th, 2010 at 5:00 pm to 9:00pm and could possibly carry over to Sliders Bar and Grill in Berlin. It will be the standard meet and greet with no pressure to share, but I will be opening up the floor to anyone who wishes to share their work with a limit of no more than five double spaced pages.

Although joining a writers group can be intimidating, it can also be one of the most rewarding experiences of a writer's life as well as a invaluable tool towards publication. I hope to create a group that cultivates open, constructive criticism of work and a support structure that will encourage and provide information to fellow writers who are feeling like they're drowning in a sea of information.

To RSVP, please go to http://cctwriters.blogspot.com for information and if interested in the group, please follow the blog. Updates and meeting minutes will be posted in this location only.
